Workshop Process
The CANEUS workshop will build from the developments of the ESA program to further
facilitate project development, by using a unique “flow-down” structure. The first
three days contain 13 technical sessions addressing key issues involved in three
broad topical areas: Visions and Roadmaps for (a) MEMS, MOEMS, Sensors and (b) Nanotechnology
and Applications; and MNT Integration. Each speaker at the Roundtable session is
essentially a leader in the field, describing his or her organization's work in
the context of the broader international picture. The Roundtable sessions provide
the background material for discussions leading to informed decisions by participants
at the subsequent CANEUS workshops sessions. The two-day workshop sessions will
use a step-by-step approach to first identify candidate MNT concepts and ultimately
formulate the projects, while focusing on fostering international partnerships that
bring together complementary core competencies and deliver concrete products.
