Getting There
The Exhibition and Congress Centre enjoys a perfect location on the border between Tuscany and Liguria. It is easy to reach by all methods of transport thanks to an efficient network of airports, railways and motorways. In addition, the Centre is efficiently served by public transport.
Air
Scheduled flights to Rome and Milan international airports provide easy connections to the nearby airports of Genoa, Florence and Pisa, which are well linked up to Carrara by train and motorway.
By Car
Carrara is an hour's drive from Florence and Genoa and a 30 minutes' drive from Pisa. The distance from Milan is about 2 hours and the distance from Rome is about 4 hours. The nearest motorway is the A12 (Genova-Livorno) and the exit is Carrara, a few hundred metres from the Exhibition and Congress Centre.
Coming from Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa take Strada Grande Comunicazione Firenze-Pisa-Livorno towards A12/E80. Take exit onto A12/E80 going towards Firenze/Genova/Pisa Nord. Continue for 51.5 km. Take exit Carrara onto Viale G. Galilei towards Marina di Carrara. Please note there are toll roads along this route.
From Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport near Rome, take the A12/E80 North for 53.5 km. It will merge onto SS1. Take the exit onto A12/E80 toward Livorno/Genova/Firenze. After 97 km, take Carrara exit onto Viale Galileo Galilei. Follow signs towards Marina di Carrara. Please note that this is a toll road.
By Public Transport
From Pisa Centrale, take a train to Carrara Avenza. The journey will take about 40 minutes. Either take a taxi to CarraraFiere or take the L70 bus for approximately 15 minutes. The bus leaves from Via Enzo Pettachi towards Monti Parma/Genova. Pisa Centrale is a half hour walk or a 15 minute bus ride on LAM Rossa from Galileo Galilei International Airport.
From Rome Termini, take a train to Carrara Avenza. The journey will take approximately 4 hours and may involve changing trains. Ways to get from Carrara Avenza to CarraraFiere are listed above. To get from Leonardo da Vinci-Fiumicino Airport to Roma Termini, take the Leonardo Express train from platform 25 near the airport.
