Session S05
Mid TRL Materials

Speakers will provide attendees with a summary of "mid-maturity" issues facing materials development for aerospace applications. Each speaker will present the approach taken by his/her organization to address issues related to validation of new materials technology initially within the laboratory and ultimately within the relevant aerospace environment. Data and experience related to system/sub-system level demonstrations in an aerospace environment will be discussed.

Chaired by :

Harry Partridge, NASA-Ames and David Vivancos, NANOESPACIO

Lead Speaker :

Annick Loiseau, ONERA

Speakers :

Christophe Laurent, CIRIMAT
"Ceramic- and polymer-matrix composites with double-walled carbon nanotubes"
Michael Meador, NASA-Glenn
Masahiro Tosa, National Institute of Materials Research

“Characterization of Lubricative Coating after Exposure Test in Orbit”

Pilot Project Concept topics related to Session S05: Amongst the 7 Pilot Projects that will be discussed during the process workshops, we feel that the content of topic P1 would perhaps enhance the material presented at the Low TRL Session.
