Financial Support
The operation of CANEUS Reliability will be funded will be facilitated by three different networks including the following:
- European Commission and participating funding organization
(eg: CNES)
- End Users (eg: EADS)
- Developers and potential clients (eg: Boeing, MEMS Industry group)
IP Issues
Several IP issues have been defined from Penn State University, NASA JPL and NASA JSC. These regulations will be followed in the development of CANEUS Reliability.
In addition, property through mutual agreements that preserve the rights of the participating entities as well as the new business to be formed. The Pilot Project partners will enter into a CANEUS mediated Consortium Agreement, which takes into account the features of the new business’ IP regimen. In this sense, the Consortium Agreement will be comprehensive and cover areas of IP ownership and protection of knowledge, publication and dissemination of knowledge during and upon completion of the project, as well as the issue of granting of access rights.
Dedicated International Collaboration
This consortium aims to establish a technical relationship between several institutes and industries involved in the reliability assessment of MNT for aerospace applications such as CNES, SANDIA, IMEC, NOVA MEMS, CNRS, etc.
The consortium will also create an exchange area for the aerospace industry and will coordinate end user requirements with other networks such as NEXUS, DfMM-PATENT or MIG.
In addition, the CANEUS Pilot Project Workshop Committee will examine the types of international collaborations that best benefit the new business entity and help assemble a team composed of representatives from appropriate institutions. In this particular instance of reliability and testing of MNT-based systems with wide international applications, it is anticipated that many opportunities exist within several large institutions both in the aerospace industry and government agencies across the world.
