CANEUS 2006 is the follow-on conference to the highly successful CANEUS 2004 and CANEUS 2002 conferences, and is organized by the CANEUS Organization and the CNRT-France together with representatives from Europe (CEA, CNRS, CNES, EC, ESA, Airbus, EADS), USA (NASA, DoD), Japan (JAXA, NEDO) and Governments of Canada and South Korea. CANEUS is a non-profit organization set up primarily for the advancement of MNT for Aerospace and Defence applications

CANEUS 2006 will solidify the foundation that we laid in CANEUS 2004. The CANEUS 2004 conference held in Monterrey, CA, Nov. 1-5, 2004, succeeded in generating tremendous interest within the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, and South Korea for the development of a smoothly functioning technology development pipeline. A call for promising MNT concepts at the CANEUS 2004 Conference resulted in the submission and evaluation of 14 innovative concept topics.   These concept papers are currently being transformed into the development of system-level prototypes through international partnerships aimed at transitioning MNT to Aerospace applications

A “flow-down” structure adopted for the five-day CANEUS 2006 conference is consistent with successful format first implemented during CANEUS 2004 and will consist of 3 days of Conference covering the topics related to the MNT Technology Development Pipeline and 2 days of Workshops to debate issues related to Concept Papers/Pilot Projects funded prior to the conference.

CANEUS 2004 Conference

CANEUS 2004 is the world's premier international conference devoted to Micro-Nano-technology (MNT) development for Aerospace Applications. The CANEUS 2004 conference was build on the theme developed during the CANEUS 2002 workshop; namely, it addressed the challenge of efficiently transitioning aerospace MNT development from a mostly low TRL (Technology Readiness Level) stage to system-level implementations. The creation of an Aerospace MNT development "pipeline" would involve the active participation and buy-in from several important constituencies from among those involved in Low, Mid and High TRL development as well as end-users and investors.

CANEUS 2002 Conference

The CANEUS workshop is a significant step in defining the future of micro and nano technology development. With over 100 of the world's leading authorities in aerospace, defense and industrial R&D as well as nanotechnology commercialization and investment, the workshop provides a truly unique opportunity for technology exchanges and networking.

CANEUS 2001 Workshop

This workshop was jointly organized by the Centre for Large Space Structures and Systems (CLS3) Inc., Montreal, Quebec, Canada, together with the Institute for Aerospace Research (IAR) of the National Research Council of Canada (NRCC), Ottawa, Canada and the Canadian Microelectronics Corporation (CMC), Kingston, Ontario, Canada. The workshop sponsors included: the Department of National Defense Canada (DND), the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC), Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) and the Canadian Society for Non-Destructive Testing (CSNDT).
