CANEUS 2006 is the follow-on conference to the highly successful CANEUS 2004 and CANEUS 2002 conferences, and is organized by the CANEUS Organization and the CNRT-France together with representatives from Europe (CEA, CNRS, CNES, EC, ESA, Airbus, EADS), USA (NASA, DoD), Japan (JAXA, NEDO) and Governments of Canada and South Korea. CANEUS is a non-profit organization set up primarily for the advancement of MNT for Aerospace and Defence applications
CANEUS 2006 will solidify the foundation that we laid in CANEUS 2004. The CANEUS 2004 conference held in Monterrey, CA, Nov. 1-5, 2004, succeeded in generating tremendous interest within the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, and South Korea for the development of a smoothly functioning technology development pipeline. A call for promising MNT concepts at the CANEUS 2004 Conference resulted in the submission and evaluation of 14 innovative concept topics. These concept papers are currently being transformed into the development of system-level prototypes through international partnerships aimed at transitioning MNT to Aerospace applications
A “flow-down” structure adopted for the five-day CANEUS 2006 conference is consistent with successful format first implemented during CANEUS 2004 and will consist of 3 days of Conference covering the topics related to the MNT Technology Development Pipeline and 2 days of Workshops to debate issues related to Concept Papers/Pilot Projects funded prior to the conference.
