Concept Submission Tool
You may use the form below to submit your concept in response to the CANEUS Workshops'
Call For Concepts that describe novel MNT-based concepts for materials,
devices and systems, including packaging and reliability testing. The deadline of
submission is May 3, 2010. After submission, you will receive an email confirming
that we've received your concept. This email will also contain your username and
password should you need to update your concept on or before the deadline. We will
notify prinicpal authors of the technical committee's decision/acceptance within
3 weeks. The deadline of final presentations is on July 5, 2010.
A guide is provided below for your convenience.
The Concept Abstract will make the case for a CANEUS Consortia project aimed at
the development of MNT-based system / product. The Concept Paper will provide the
conference / workshop participants with the technical and programmatic background
necessary to evaluate the current status in terms of technological maturity, key
technology developers in the arena, potential investors, aerospace end-applications,
market potential and the challenges involved in product/system development.
Relevance to CANEUS Consortia
List a few sentences on why the proposed concept is relevant to the goals of this
workshop and what issue/objective is being addressed.
- Justification for a Consortia project
- Recommended approach for advancing the promising MNT concept to system level
Concept Background Information
- Description of the current state-of-the-art and review of leading organizations
involved in development
- Benefits of the proposed MNT concept / approach over the current state-of-the-art
- Parameters to be examined include technical and commercial background as well as
significant strengths and weaknesses
- Key application areas and market segments for the proposed concept / technology.
If available, the sizes of these market segments should be included
- Description of major trends and consequent scenarios impacting the concept development.
Consortia Project Implementation Approach
- Recommended approach for advancing the promising MNT concept to
product / system level implementation for the Consortia project
- Proposed teaming arrangement (participants) options and description
of complementary expertise and facilities
- Export Control / ITAR issues that could impact the proposed development
- Identify the potential governmental, industrial and institutional sources of
funding and other resources
- Overview of relevant current intellectual property (IP) status
- Plan for expansion of the proposed Consortia project into commercial development
– business case
- Potential non-aerospace applications
